The Flyers took full advantage of a team without their top player and captain. In the first period, they scored three goals in a span of 4:01. In the second period, they added three more in a span of 4:07. That was more than enough in a 6-1 win on Thursday night that continued the team’s incredible run of success on home ice.

The Flyers were the beneficiaries of three goals off Sabres and scored three more on top of that, rolling to a 6-1 win over the Sabres on Thursday night at Wells Fargo Center.

The Flyers remain on home ice for their next game, a Thursday night matchup against the Buffalo Sabres. 

For a change, the Flyers got off to a quick start and never looked back, leading nearly wire to wire in a 5-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres that, for now, improved their playoff hopes slightly.

Facing the lowly Buffalo Sabres was going to be a test to see if the Flyers would play down to the opponent and let it hurt the final result, but the Orange and Black secured a 2-1 win for their fifth straight, which certainly has the team's 10-game losing streak slipping further into the past.
