LINWOOD — Prior to Tuesday's game featuring rivals Ocean City and Mainland Regional, the crowd was buzzing about the chance to see Red Raiders stud pitcher Sean Mooney. After three innings, the only buzzing the Mainland faithful heard came from random bumble bees near the home dugout.

The Ocean City baseball team felt pretty good about its chances to make it to the South Jersey Group 3 championship game last season. The Red Raiders had an outstanding regular season, one that featured a Diamond Classic invitation. And in the opening round of the state playoffs they had dismantled Camden Tech 10-0. If the top-seeded Red Raiders could get past No. 8 Winslow and possibly fifth-seed
