Sports Talk with Brodes: Provorov Scores Game Winner in Double OT
The Philadelphia Flyers force a game 7 by beating the New York Islanders in double overtime!! Ivan Provorov scored from the high slot to win the game! There were plenty of miserable moments: The multiple power plays, Alain Vigneault's awful challenge, the lack of shots, Travis Sanhiem's turnover at the end of the second period, but who cares!! They found a way to win. Carter Hart was a difference maker once again and Oskar Lindblom played after beating cancer. What a moment. Anything can happen in Game 7!

Sports Talk with Brodes: Flyers Fall in Game 3 to Isles
The Philadelphia Flyers lose game three by a score of 3-1 to the New York Islanders. Tyler Pitlick started the scoring in the first period for the Orange and the Black. In the second period, the Isles absolutely dominated and took control of the game. Carter Hart allowed a couple squeakers, but he is the farthest thing from the issue. The defense got beat to every loose puck and lost every battle. The offense barely had any shots on net after the first. Things need to change!!

Phil Myers Ties Series in OT, Hayes 2 Goals
The Philadelphia Flyers win game two over the New York Islanders. The Flyers had a 3-0 lead after the first period thanks to Kevin Hayes, who scored two goals. Claude Giroux was awesome and Sean Couturier scored a filthy goal after dangling Nick Leddy. Semyon Varlamov was pulled from there. The Islanders scored three straight goals to tie the game and force overtime. Phil Myers ripped a shot on net a couple minutes into OT to win the game! Carter Hart continues to be stellar.

The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Montreal Canadiens by a score of 3-2 in Game 6. Matt Niskanen was suspended so Shayne Gostisbehere joined the lineup and he played pretty well! Carter Hart was very strong as the Habs threw a ton of shots on net. The Flyers came out hot and scored two goals five minutes into the game. Once they had the lead, they played a VERY defensive style of hockey and did not pursue a ton of offense. That needs to change moving forward.

Flyers Fail to Close Out the Series in Game 5
The Philadelphia Flyers lose game five to the Montreal Canadiens by a score of 5-3. Carter Hart let in some soft goals, but I approve Alain Vigneault's decision to play him in the back-to-back. Jakub Voracek played a great game and scored two power-play goals. He finished with three points. Claude Giroux assisted on both of his opportunities. I think the Flyers close out the series in game six.

The Philadelphia Flyers win game four of the series against the Montreal Canadiens by a score of 2-0. Michael Raffl sniped Carey Price in the first period and Phil Myers threw a shot on net from a weird angle to score the second goal. The Flyers continue to struggle on the power play. Carter Hart records a shutout, making it two in a row!

Flyers Take 2-1 Series Lead, Hart Records Shutout
The Philadelphia Flyers win game three by a score of 1-0. Carter Hart records a shutout saving 23 shots. The Flyers team as a whole blocked 24 shots. The team definitely played better than game two, but there are plenty of negatives. The power-play went 0-6 and are 1-25 total since returning to the bubble. This is abysmal! Their last three power-plays resulted in ZERO SHOTS! That's almost impossible. Two of those opportunities were in the third period when the score was 1-0. How?! How?! How?! How?! Alain Vigneault put Robert Hagg in the lineup along with Michael Raffl. Shayne Gostisbehere and Joel Farabee were healthy scratches. Vigneault wanted to play a more physical game, which they executed. For the only goal, Claude Giroux ripped a shot and it hit off Jakub Voracek in front of the net. It found a way past Carey Price who was hard to crack all night, although it wasn't as if the Flyers had too many opportunities.

Sports Talk with Brodes: Flyers Take a 1-0 Series Lead!
The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Montreal Canadiens by a score of 2-1 to take a 1-0 series lead. It was not their best game at all, but Carter Hart was magnificent. The only goal he allowed was on the powerplay when Shea Weber found an open-net after the puck bounced to him in the slot. Ivan Provorov scored to open up the game in the first period by putting the puck on net from the blue line with a man-advantage. Joel Farabee scored the game winning goal seconds after Montreal tied it up in the second period. The Flyers played sloppy at times, specifically in the second period, and they will have to clean things up! With that being said, they left a ton of scoring chances on the table. Scott Laughton had a wide-open net and was robbed by Carey Price. Nate Thompson shot the puck in the corner when Price was nowhere to be found. The Fly Guys had multiple powerplays in the third period and came up empty. I thought they gave the Habs too many chances. Luckily, Carter Hart delivered!

Flyers Storm Past the Lightning for 1st Seed!
The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Tampa Bay Lightning by a score of 4-1 to clinch the number one seed in the Eastern Conference. They will now match up with the Montreal Canadiens in the first round of the playoffs. Nicolas Aube-Kubel scored 2 goals to give the Flyers a lead. Shayne Gostisbehere found his way into the lineup and played excellent. After the Lightning made it 2-1, Joel Farabee lit the lamp to put the Flyers up two again. Tyler Pitlick finished the game off with an empty-net goal. The Lightning controlled the entire third period, but the Flyers blocked so many shots, Carter Hart was insane, and they found a way to hold off Tampa's powerful offense.

Hayes, Laughton, & Konecny Lead Flyers Past the Capitals!
The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Washington Capitals in round robin play by a score of 3-1. They will now play the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday for the first-seed in the playoffs. Kevin Hayes recorded three assists. Scott Laughton scored two goals and one assist. Travis Konecny had two assists. This line was sensational! Brian Elliott was in the pipes and he did everything you could ask for. The penalty kill went 4-4, but the powerplay went 0-6. The Flyers are going to need to generate on the powerplay if they want to succeed in the postseason. Alain Vigneault took James van Riemsdyk out of the lineup to wake him up. Joel Farabee slid into the Michael Raffl's spot since his injury. Farabee and Aube-Kubel had noticeable chemistry all game long.
