The Flyers get back on home ice on Saturday night for their final game of March, taking on the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Flyers close out the 2022-23 season with one final game on the road against the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday night.

The Flyers could never seem to find the ability to finish and paid for their mistakes in a 4-1 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks at Wells Fargo Center on Thursday night.

The Flyers enter Thursday's game having won eight of their last 10 games, while the Chicago Blackhawks are among the worst teams in the league.

The Flyers have lost eight of the last nine games, including six coming on home ice. The homestand nears its end, as the Flyers take on the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday afternoon. 

The Flyers completed a trade with the Nashville Predators, adding defenseman Ryan Ellis in exchange or defenseman Phil Myers and forward Nolan Patrick. Patrick was sent to the Vegas Golden Knights in a separate deal involving the Predators and New York Rangers.

Despite the ongoing pause due to the pandemic, voting is underway for NHL awards and the Flyers are sure to be represented with candidates in a handful of categories. 

Over at ESPN.com, Greg Wyshynski posed the biggest question for each of the 24 teams in the playoffs. The Flyers one is quite intriguing. Are these games following the pause, to be played in neutral hub cities, away games for Carter Hart?

Just as they did with Florida a week ago, the Flyers have a chance to create some separation with Columbus when they face each other again on Thursday night, as the Flyers look to complete a season sweep of the Blue Jackets on the road.

When the dust settled from Tuesday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, the scoreboard read 5-1 in favor of the Flyers. It hardly felt like a game that the Flyers had won by four goals in rather convincing fashion.
