Here is a look at everything you need to know in sports:
Late Goal No Help: Danny Briere scored a tremendous goal to help the Flyers make it to overtime, but they fall 3-2 in a shootout in Denver. The Flyers are back in action tomorrow in Dallas.
Jimmy's Back: Shortstop Jimmy Rollins – the longest-tenured professional athlete in Philadelphia – signed a three-year, $33 million contract with the Phillies, Senior Vice President & General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr. announced. The contract includes a vesting option for 2015 at $11 million that, if not vested, could be a club option at $8 million or a player option at $5 million.
Back on the Hardwood: The Sixers host the Wizards tonight just six days from their season opener in Portland. The home-town five dominated the Wizards on Friday night and tonight will be the final pre-season tune-up before the hoop-it-up for real.
Still Need Help: While the Eagles pulled off an impressive win, they still need help to win the NFC East. Andy Reid says; “Anything’s possible in the NFL. I realize that, I’ve been around long enough to understand that. I’m a huge Jets fan this week.” The Eagles need a Jets win over the Giants at 1pm, then a win of their on at 4:15 against the Cowboys. Then will need a win in week 17 over the Redskins, coupled with a Giants win over Dallas - got that?
