The Flyers fall in the winter classic, Lurie will speak, Penn State losses and is looking at a local, college hoops and more in the Morning Sports Page!

A Classic loss:  Brayden Schenn scored his first career NHL goal, Jaromir Jagr sustained a leg injury, Sergei Bobrovsky saved 30 of 33 shots and Danny Briere was stopped with 19.6 seconds left in a 3-2 loss in the 2012 Winter Classic.

Time is yours...Lurie:  Eagles owner Jeff Lurie will speak to the media.  Why is this big news, well first off, it's rare that we hear from Lurie before we hear from head coach Andy Reid.  Does this mean Reid will be fired?  Not likely, but it will be interesting to see if there are two seats at that podium at 2:30 today when Lurie is scheduled to speak.   Why would two seats be interesting? 1.  It could be Reid is stepping down - unlikely.  2. Maybe Castillo will be fired and Reid will be there to speak about that.  Either way tune in at 4:05 Tuesday for the Jeff Lurie press conference on the Sports Bash.

Local to PSU?:  According to his agent, Holy Spirit graduate and Ventnor resident Greg Roman is one of the top candidates for the Penn State job, succeeding Joe Paterno.  Roman, who is currently the 49ers offensive coordinator and he will join Mike Gill at 3:30 to discuss this rumor and the NFL playoffs.

PSU losses Bowl game:  In what turned out to be a disaster season for Penn State, the Nittany Lions were  beaten 30-14 in the Ticket City Bowl vs the Houston Cougars.  Expect big changes in Happy Valley in 2012.
