Flyers get some revenge...Penn State has a new football coach...Home sweet home and more.  Its a part of the Morning Sports Page.

JVR Nets Two in Win:  While it wasn't the Stanley Cup, the Flyers did beat the Blackhawks 5-4, despite a rough third-period.  James van Riemsdyk scored two goals and was selected as the game's first star while playing on a line with Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds.  Goalie Ilya Bryzgalov wasn't spectacular but he held on for the win, stopping 30 of 34 Chicago shots for his first win since December 13th.

No Roman for you:  Local product Greg Roman joined the Sports Bash on Tuesday and talked about being a candidate for the Penn State job.  On Thursday night it appears the Nittnay Lions have decided to give that post to Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O'Brian.

Home Opener Tonight:  The Sixers will finally play their home opener tonight against the Detriot Pistons.  They are the last team in the NBA to play at home and are 3-2 off a five-game road trip to start the season.  Thaddeus Young has a sprain in his right (non-shooting) hand, but is expected to play on tonight, he is averaging 12.4 per game on the season.

College Hoops:

They are Undeniable:  Congrats to the Mainland Mustangs; they are  the winners of the  Under Armour “Finding Undeniable” school spirit contest.
