The Stark Report on 7.9.15:

Jayson Stark called in for his weekly appearance on 97.3 ESPN FM to discuss all things Phillies. Stark had a report yesterday saying that the Ruben Amaro was close to deal(s) involving Johnathan Papelbon, but was told to "pull back" by the organization. Stark again reiterated that Andy MacPhail is a very patient and deliberate man. He wont rush to any decisions and "preaches patience," according to Stark. The Phillies seem to continue to be in a holding pattern and no trades are imminent at this point.

Stark also had some strong thoughts on this year's Home Run Derby. The young superstars of the game are not participating in Bryce Harper and Mike Trout, hopefully it doesn't turn into something. Stark has "evidence" to suggest that participating in the derby will not impact your swing long term. He puts it in perspective, indeed.
