Atlantic City has always been a boxing town.

For years, top boxing top names have displayed their skills inside the famous Boardwalk Hall.  Mike Tyson dominated Michael Spinks,  Evander Holyfield defeated former champion George Foreman in the Hall.

Other big names that boxed in the Hall include:  Sugar Ray Leonard, Oscar De La Hoya, Roberto Duran, Lennox Lewis, Roy Jones Jr., Floyd Mayweather Jr., Bernard Hopkins, Riddick Bowe, Julio César Chávez,Héctor Camacho and Arturo Gatti.

However, boxing is having issues, big names are hard to find and controversial decisions get more attention then big name fights.  Now boxing has another issue - a rival sport.

Ultimate fighting has provided an alternative to boxing for fans that like to see fighting. Dana White is the controversial president of the sport, he oversees everything that goes on.  It's a position that boxing does not have and its one of the main reasons boxing is losing its luster - there is not trust.

As the UFC prepares to return to Atlantic City, UFC with President Dana White joined the Sports Bash with Mike Gill to discuss:

  • The Best fighters, fighting the best fighters
  • How boxing is fragmented
  • On Mayweather-Pacquiao fight not happening
  • Dealing with Brock Lesner and their recent meeting
