VENTNOR - The Claudia Fund “Playing for a Cure” Football Jamboree returns for its fourth installment Friday and Saturday, Aug. 24-25 at Ventnor’s Titus Field, once again combining charity and athletics. This year’s Varsity session features the Linwood Panthers, Absecon Blue Devils, Egg Harbor Township Eagles, Egg Harbor City Crusaders, Mays Landing Lakers and Ventnor Pirates.

Varsity action is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Friday.

Junior Varsity competition includes the Linwood Panthers, Absecon Blue Devils, Egg Harbor Township Eagles, Egg Harbor City Crusaders, Northfield Cardinals and Ventnor Pirates. Junior Varsity games begin at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The Claudia Fund Football Jamboree was established in 2008 to help raise money for brain cancer research through Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Maryland. The event honors the lives of Claudia Bergman and Ricky Knight, who were both treated at Johns Hopkins before succumbing to the devastating disease.
