VOORHEES – The Flyers say Vinny Lecavalier will miss the next two weeks with a "lower-body injury."

The 34-year-old center was hit by a puck in the right foot during the Flyers' first power play, about seven minutes into the first period, in Saturday night's shootout loss to the Montreal Canadiens. Lecavalier finished the game, playing 16:10, and had an assist on Wayne Simmonds' power-play goal 55 seconds into the second period.

Lecavalier tested the foot during stoppages to see if he could skate on it and did. After the game, when he took off his skate, it was likely a different story. The team denied Saturday night that Lecavalier was hurt, but fessed up Monday morning before practice. The veteran in his 16th season was reportedly seen wearing a walking boot when he left the stadium. In three games this season, he has a goal and two assists.
