Congratulations to Southern's senior field hockey star Chloe Courter, who took home last week's 97.3 ESPN High School Athlete of the Week honors.

Meanwhile, this week, we have a new set of local student-athletes who shine on their respective fields. Each are now in the running to take home this week’s Athlete of the Week.

Sam Crouch, Football, Buena - The junior ran for 121 yards and a touchdown as the undefeated Chiefs won their NJSIAA Group 2 playoff opener.

 

Austyn Cuneo, Field Hockey, Eastern - The senior scored 21 goals in six NJSIAA games to go along with her 93 goals this year and national record 326 career goals.

 

James Gruel, Football, Wildwood - Gruel scored two touchdowns as the Warriors earned their first win of the season.

 

Andrew Light, Football, Holy Spirit - The senior quarterback scored three touchdowns and threw for two more in Spartans opening round playoff win.

 

Isaih Pacheco, Football, Vineland - The freshman phenom ran for three touchdowns and passed for another in a win over Washington Township.

 

Jonathan Triboletti, Football, Hammonton - The senior scored the winning tochdown with 12.6 seconds left, his second of the game, in the Blue Devils playoff opener.
