This week, we have a new set of local student-athletes who shine on their respective courts and each are in the running now to take home this week’s Athlete of the Week award.

Amanda Nunan, Swimming, Ocean City - The sophomore swimmer won two events herself and was part of two relay wins as the Red Raiders won their second straight South Jersey title.

 

Erik Pruszinski, Wrestling, Lower Cape May - The two-time state finals qualifier earned his 100th career victory as a Caper Tiger.

 

Derrick Sickler, Bowling, Atlantic Tech - The senior rolled a 734 series to lead the Red Hawks to the South Jersey Group 2 championship.

 

Tim Suter, Wrestling, Buena - the sophomore scored the winning points in overtime as the Chiefs won the South Jersey Group 2 title.

 

Lamar Thomas, Basketball, Atlantic City - The junior hit a 3-pointer in the final minute, then stole the ball and assisted on the game-winning basket in a 54-53 win over rival Holy Spirit.

 

Zach Washart, Swimming, St. Augustine -  The sophomore won two events himself and was on three winning relay teams as Prep reached the state finals.
