This week, we have a new set of local student-athletes who shine on their respective courts and each are in the running now to take home this week’s Athlete of the Week award.

Pat D'Arcy, Wrestling, Holy Spirit - The senior became the first Spartan to ever win a state wrestling championship and set a CAL record with 156 career wins.

 

Kyion Flanders, Basketball, Wildwood - The freshman phenom scored 29 points, including seven 3-pointers, in a 69-67 tournament win over Haddon Heights.

 

Connor Laverty, Basketball, Ocean City - The junior had 28 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists - his 7th double-double in the final 11 games.

 

C.J. LaFragola, Wrestling, St. Joe - The Wildcats' multi-sport star finished second in the state and compiled a 43-2 record on the season.

 

D.J. Smith, Basketball, Wildwood Catholic - The sharp shooting junior scored 21 points in the Crusaders upset win over Cardinal McCarrick in the NJSIAA tournament.

 

Lauren Holden, Basketball, Lower Cape May - The senior wraps her high school career up with 35 points to lead the Tigers to their first South Jersey title in an overtime win.
