Congrats to Southern Regional's standout lacrosse star, Dylan Jinks who took home last week's 97.3 ESPN High School Athlete of the Week honors.

This week, we have a fresh batch of local student-athletes who have proven themselves worthy on their respective fields.

Jimmy Versage, Baseball, Middle Township - He earned MVP honors at the Warrior Classic tournament in Wildwood. The junior catcher collected five hits, including two triples, five RBI and five runs scored in three games.

 

Andrew Baumgartel, Lacrosse, Egg Harbor Township - The goalie stopped 15 shots in a pivotal league victory over Middle Township. His efforts helped EHT claim an 11-6 win and take possession of first place in the CAL.

 

Sam Liepe, Softball, Oakcrest - The Falcons pitcher was on fire in the past week. She hurled a perfect game against Pleasantville and followed with a no-hitter against Absegami. Both games were shortened to four innings as a result of the 10-run rule.

 

Kyler Pikus, Baseball, Holy Spirit - The junior pitcher tossed 6 1/3 innings of four-hit action, striking out six batters in a 4-2 win over Mainland. Pikus helped the Spartans stay unbeaten against division opponents.

 

Andrew Sibson, Baseball, Cedar Creek - He threw a three-hit gem to help Cedar Clinch a spot in the prestigious Diamond Classic tournament. Sibson struck out eight batters in a 10-0 CAL National Conference win over Ocean City.
