Meanwhile, this week, we have a new set of local student-athletes who shine on their respective fields, and each is now in the running to take home this week’s Athlete of the Week award.

Marquese Bell, Track and Field, Bridgeton - The sophomore cleared 6-foot-10 to become the top high jumper in the state at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions.

 

Anthony Boselli, Baseball, Holy Spirit - The senior had a three-run triple to lead the Spartans to their first South Jersey championship in 31 years - he also had 3 hits in the semifinal game.

 

Rachel Stremme, Track and Field, Ocean City - The Penn recruit ran the anchor leg on the Raiders 4x800 meter relay team that won its 2nd straight state championship.

 

Carly Testa, Softball, St. Joseph - The Caldwell recruit had 2 hits in the first inning as the Wildcats scored nine times in the opening inning to win their second straight South Jersey championship - she reached base 4 times and scored 3 runs.

 

Denny Brady, Baseball, Buena - The East Carolina recruit pitched a 4-hitter, struck out 14 and had a double & 2 singles to lead the Chiefs to their 3rd South Jersey title in 4 years.

 

Caleb Williams, Track and Field, St. Joseph - The senior won the 200 meters to help the Wildcats win the state championship, he then finished second in the NJSIAA Meet of Champions.
