Senior Alex Padovani took home last week's Athlete of the Week honors, following in the footsteps of his teammate John Triboletti who won the award the previous week.

Meanwhile, we have a new batch of local student-athletes this week who have proven themselves worthy in their respective fields.

Tanner Kerr, Soccer, Middle Township - The Panthers goalie continues to turn away shots at a torrid pace. Kerr kept Cape May Tech off the scoreboard Tuesday in a 3-0 victory. It was his 11th shutout of the season and pushed  the Panthers to 13-0 this season.

 

Deandre Dennis, Football, Holy Spirit - The versatile Spartans playmaker ensured Holy Spirit took control against Absegami midway through a 33-6 win. Dennis bolted for a 67-yard touchdown run on the second half's first play from scrimmage. The senior rushed for 117 total yards.

 

Steve Tobolski, Soccer, VinelandHe led the Fighting Clan on a ferocious offensive rally against Atlantic City. Tobolski tallied a hat trick, and his third goal of the contest gave Vineland a 4-3 victory.

 

Emily Johnson, Cross Country, Wildwood Catholic - The Crusaders' senior standout finished fourth overall in the Disney Cross Country Classic, a meet that features 130 runners from across the nation. Johnson completed the course with a time of 20 minutes, 21 seconds.

 

Stefon Bowman, Football, Bridgeton - The Bulldogs' leading rusher stepped up in the second half of a 26-0 victory over National Conference rival Buena. Bowman burst for a 35-yard touchdown run to give Bridgeton a three-score advantage before punctuating the win with an 89-yard score.
