As the fall sports season comes to a close we're looking forward to basketball and wrestling and the other winter sports, but we're also taking one last look at the fall sports standout stars.

Here are a new batch of local student-athletes this week who have proven themselves worthy in their respective fields.

Rocco Ordille, Football, St. Joe - The running back rushed for 88 yards and scored two touchdowns in a 33-13 state championship game victory over St. Mary's. His effort helped propel the Wildcats to a fifth straight state title.

 

Catie Vesper, Swimming, Holy Spirit - She took part in three race victories for the Spartans during a team win over Atlantic City. Vesper finished first in the 50- and 100-meter freestyle races before finishing first in the 400-meter freestyle relay.

 

Seth Chisholm, Basketball, Atlantic Christian - He scored 24 points in a 71-31 win over Baptist regional. Chisholm poured in 10 points during the first quarter.

 

Rich Richmond, Swimming, Ocean City - He claimed individual victories in the 200- and 500-meter freestyle. Richmond was also part of a winning effort in the 200-meter freestyle relay.

 

Matt Stickney, Football, Cherokee - The Chiefs running back led the charge in a Group 5 South Jersey championship win over top-seeded Eastern. Stickney rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown, while adding an interception on defense.
