Congratulations to Mainland's record setting swimmer, Nolan Coyle for taking home last week's 97.3 ESPN High School Athlete of the Week honors.

This week, we have a new batch of local student-athletes this week who have proven themselves worthy in their respective fields.

Jordan Robertson, Basketball, Wildwood Catholic - The senior guard erupted for 24 points in a 68-47 victory over crosstown rival Wildwood. Robertson also registered six rebounds.

 

Zy'hara Lewis, Basketball, Pleasantville - She tallied 20 points, leading Pleasantville to a 49-43 win over Perth Amboy in semifinal action of the Lady Viking Classic at Atlantic City High School.

 

Dennis White, Basketball, Atlantic City - He helped push the two-time defending state champions past Wildwood Catholic on opening night with a monster effort in the paint. White pulled down 15 rebounds and added eight points in a 44-41 victory over the Crusaders.

 

Amanda Nunan, Swimming, Ocean City - She claimed two individual victories (100 IM and 200 freestyle) during the Red Raiders' 108-57 win over Cedar Creek. Nunan also took part in a pair of successful relay races (200 medley and 200 freestyle).

 

Ben Mitchell, Basketball, St. Joe - He scored 20 points to pave the way against Pleasantville. Mitchell's efforts helped fuel the Wildcats to a 52-38 win.
