Ricky Hopkins, Baseball, Holy Spirit - The senior catcher is crushing the ball so far this season, carrying a .523 batting average, a home run, four doubles and 10 RBIs through the first eight games. Hopkins hit a pair of doubles and drove in three runs to help lead the Spartans to a surprising 11-9 victory over previously unbeaten St. Augustine.

 

Zack Novick, Tennis, Middle TownshipThe senior set a school record with his 65th career victory against Wildwood Catholic on Monday. He picked up the milestone mark with a commanding straight-set win, taking the match 6-0, 6-0.

 

Cheyenne Meyer, Softball, Cedar Creek - The Pirates' ace struck out 12 batters in an impressive 7-2 victory over visiting Southern Regional.

 

Luke Westfield, Baseball, Pennsville - Westfield has come out firing on the mound. In his first three starts, the Pennsville pitcher was 3-0 with 18 strikeouts, surrendering just six hits. He didn't allow a single earned run in his first three outings.

 

Owen Dierolf, Lacrosse, Ocean City - The Red Raiders rallied to defeat Egg Harbor Township on Monday when Dierolf created a turnover on defense and converted a game-winning goal on the ensuing fast break. He found the back of the net with six second remaining in regulation to lift Ocean City over the Eagles, 8-7.
