Congratulations to Ocean City's Sean Mooney for taking home the first 97.3 ESPN Athlete of the Week honors for the 2015 Spring sports season.

Meanwhile, here is a new set of local student-athletes who shine on their respective fields, and each is now in the running to take home this week’s Athlete of the Week award.

Jeremiah Atoki, Track and Field, Vineland - The Temple football recruit anchored two winning relays in the Bridgeton Relays and won three events in a dual meet.

 

C.J. LaFragola, Baseball, St. Joseph - The three-sport star hit four home runs and drove in 12 in a pair of games, including a grand slam against Middle Township.

 

Jack Denis, Lacrosse, Middle Township - The senior scored his 200th career goal for the Panthers and lifted his season total to 31.

 

Jackson Fiel, Golf, Southern Regional - The senior shot an even-par 72 to win the Ocean County Tournament for the 3rd straight year.

 

Carly Testa, Softball, St. Joseph - lifted her career hit total to 158, a new St. Joe school record.

 

Erik Arenberg, Baseball, Middle Township - The senior pitched a no-hitter against Wildwood Catholic, striking out five in seven innings.
