The Phillies decided to keep Jeremy Hellickson and not move him at the MLB Non-Waver Trade Deadline.  Hellickson has been a stabilizing force for the starting rotation as one of the team leaders in ERA (3.70 - 3rd), Innings Pitched (131.1 - 2nd) and Wins (8 - Tied for 1st) while also serving as the Veteran to mentor the younger pitchers.

CSN Philly Phillies Analyst and Nine-year MLB Pitcher Tommy Greene joined The Sports Bash on Tuesday and spoke about what Hellickson brings to the Phillies' Starting Rotation:

"He’s teaching these young guys how you can pitch with stuff that's not necessarily lighting up the radar gun but you can change speeds and make guys look awful foolish if you know what you're doing. And he's a pitcher and that's a good thing to have around those young guys...he’s a good guy to have in the rotation that can give you quality innings"
