The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired Luke Schenn from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for James van Riemsdyk. The Flyers needed to add a defensive presence with the loss of Chris Pronger, who may never play again and the impending loss of Matt Carle.
Flyers GM Paul Holmgren hinted that Michael Leighton might fill the team’s vacated backup spot, the team needs a back-up goalie after trading away Sergei Bobrovsky last week.
