With NBA free agency starting on Thursday, many fans are wondering how big of a player the Sixers can be in the open market.

After holding on to both Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor on draft night, will the Sixers pull the trigger on a trade or keep their core and bring in a free agent to complement them?

Long-time NBA writer Mitch Lawrence, who is now Host on SiriusXM NBA Radio and writing for Sporting News and Forbes.com joined me on the Sports Bash on Monday to preview NBA free agency and discussed the Sixers ability to lure someone to Philly.

"I don't know what to expect from Bryan (Colangelo)," Lawrence stated about the Sixers aggressiveness in free agency.

"He's always been aggressive in free agency, but he's been in situations before in Phoenix and Toronto where he was a lot ore advanced in terms of winning then he is now. So I think he's probably going to have to wait a summer., see how things shake out, but I think he'll probably try to make some calls to some big-timers just to let people know 'this is who we are in Philadelphia', this is our game plan."

"In terms of a big-time splash, no.," Lawrence added. "But I think they can add some second-tier players."
