College Game Day Coming to Philly on Saturday

At long last, ESPN has made up their mind.

In an announcement on their Twitter page, College Game Day will be coming to Philadelphia on Saturday.

The nationally ranked and undefeated Owls will be hosting the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame on Halloween night at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Irish are coming off a bye this past weekend, but are still ranked in the top-10 and still in the mix for a top four playoff spot.

Game Day will be broadcasting from Independence Mall on Saturday morning which is located in the Old City section of Philadelphia. The Temple University campus is located in North Philadelphia, which is not in walking distance. Logistically, a broadcast from Temple's campus was not feasible.

XFINITY Live! was also considered.

As customary with every Game Day broadcast, the crew will be bringing in a celebrity game picker on the contest. The most famous alumni from Temple is the embattled Bill Cosby so its safe to say ESPN will be looking elsewhere for their celebrity picker.

Game Day is televised on ESPN Saturdays at 9.
