Last week, the Eagles selected Wisconsin nose tackle Beau Allen with the No. 224 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.  Today, they have signed the stout nose tackle to a four-year contract.

Allen is true nose tackle, who told us on the Sports Bash that he would offer some pass-rushing ability, but the Eagles should be thrilled if he could turn into a rotational, two-down run stuffer behind Bennie Logan.

So does the seventh round pick have a chance to make the team?  He should have a very good shot.  With Logan and Damion Square as really the only competition for snaps at the nose tackle position.

The 6-foot-2, 333-pound Allen will be battling with Square, a rookie free agent from last season, for snaps.
