Now, travel is only getting more stressful, thanks to 40 airports across the country preparing to cut flights amid the government shutdown.

The Government Shutdown is now going on day 37 as of the writing of this article, and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight.

And now, we're going to start feeling the effects even more at the airports.

Air Traffic Controllers Calling Out Sick Without Pay

Over the past week or so, we've been hearing more and more reports of air traffic controllers calling out of work sick, since they aren't receiving a paycheck for their time.

Between you and me, I don't blame them. I wouldn't want to work for free, even if I were going to get back pay at some point in the future.

What Flight Reductions Mean for Travelers

Now, 40 airports across the country have announced they are going to slash their airline capacity in order to try and keep airports running.

This means that airports are going to reduce traffic by 10 percent to try and alleviate some of the stress that airports are seeing right now, according to CBS.

The FAA is saying this could cause even more stress for travelers, and among the 40 airports that plan on cutting down on traffic is none other than Jersey's own Newark International.

Now, I've heard that international flights won't be affected by the cuts in traffic; however, if you're flying domestically, having a good backup plan may not be the worst idea.
