House Explodes into Flames in Commercial Twp, Cumberland County

A home in Commerical Township, Cumberland County exploded into flames early Monday, according to news sources.

A House Explosion & Fire in Commercial Township

NBC10 is reporting that a home on the 6200 block of Battel Lane exploded and burst into flames a little before 5 am on Monday.

Neighbors told reporters they felt the ground shake as the house exploded. A neighbor several blocks away said he felt his house shake as the fire began.

There has been no word on what caused the explosion.

At Least One Person Hurt

Cumberland County dispatchers confirm that at least one person was medevaced to the hospital after the explosion.

Firefighters could be seen fighting heavy flames early Monday at the home. Fire crews remain on location fighting hotspots.

An NBC 10 helicopter reported seeing flames and smoke from the fire and debris scattered around the badly damaged property.
