🐶   NJ State Police Discover Severely Malnourished Dog

🐶   The Dog, Remo, is Nursed Back to Health

🐶   Remo and Troopers Live Happily Ever After

Fair warning, this is a different kind of story.

This story isn't about businesses closing, or politicians.

This story won't have any mug shots attached.

No, this is a feel-good story about fate.

I'm a believer in fate.

Things happen for a reason.

Fate has a way of sneaking up on you when you least expect it.

Fate has a way of changing the trajectory of someone's life in profound ways.

This is a story about a dog named Remo.  Remo met his fate back in March.

New Jersey State police from Troop B in Sussex, were called to the scene of suspected animal abuse.

When they arrived, they found a severely malnourished dog.

The dog, Remo, was in serious trouble.  Remo was in desperate need of medical attention.

Newton Animal Control oversaw Remo's medical care and rehabilitation.

After two months, Remo had made a full recovery.

In May, the Newton Police Department gifted Remo to the State Police.

It was at that time that Remo came to meet Trooper Ryan Dichiara, and fate continued to touch Remo.

The trooper adopted Remo, and the whole Troop seemed to adopt the pup.  Remo fit right in.

The troopers couldn't help but notice Remo's personality affecting everyone he came in contact with.

On one occasion, Remo was at the station when a woman in distress arrived.  As soon as she met Remo, troopers noticed how quickly the woman was calmed.

Since that occasion, Remo has been called on to help comfort children who arrived at the station during difficult situations.

It almost seems like Remo was able to draw from his past to help others get through their difficult times, and heal.

Remo seems to have become a regular fixture at the Troop, and troopers say that in the short six months, he's been an unofficial part of the team, his personality has impacted many.

Live may have been miserable for Remo back in March, but then fate kicked in.

Today, he is living his best life, and others are benefiting from this meeting of fate as well.

**Author's note:  Each year, thousands of perfectly healthy animals are slaughtered for the simple reason that they need a home.

It's heartbreaking.

If you've ever considered adding a furry member to your home, make your connection with fate by choosing a shelter pet.

You will save a life, and make a life-long friend.
