🔴 Family Business Has Served the Community Since the 50s

🔴 Last Day of Business was September 30

🔴 The Latest Casualty of Tough Economic Times

The last few years have been brutal to brick-and-mortar retail businesses nationwide.

The list of businesses that have closed their doors is staggering.

Many retail businesses that haven't closed completely have closed a dramatically large number of locations.

The names impacted by the economy are quite recognizable.

▪️Rite-Aid

▪️CVS

▪️Red Lobster

▪️Big-Lots

▪️Boston Market

▪️Best Buy

▪️Party City

People are familiar with the big, national names, but the pain isn't exclusive to the big box stores.

Many locally owned, family businesses have been closing at an alarming rate.

This past week, LynKris Hometown Hardware of Hammonton was a business that had served the community since the 1950s.

Sure, there are big box stores that seem to have everything, but when it comes to service, it's hard to beat the local mom-and-pop businesses.

Locally owned businesses care more because they have more at stake.

It's sad every time a local business closes.

According to a post on Facebook, LynKris Hometown Hardware has closed its doors for good.

A picture was posted that said,

Lynkris Hometown Hardware as a brick and mortar business is now closed effective 9/30/24.  It's been a pleasure serving all of Atlantic County since the 1950's from both locations.

Our phone will remain active for some time.  Joe and Charlotte Fondacaro and all 15 employees we've had since 1997 wish you well.

Posters reacted to the news with sadness.
