Woman Who Was Wanted for Shooting, Arrested in Atlantic City
ShotSpotter has been an invaluable tool for the Atlantic City, New Jersey Police Department.
This technology was integral in leading to the arrest of a woman, suspected of a shooting in Atlantic City.
The Atlantic City Police Department has released the following information about the shooting and the arrest of a female suspect.
“On November 30, 2024, at 9:00 PM, patrol officers responded to the 1500 block of C Morris Cain Place in reference to a ShotSpotter alert. Evidence of gunfire was located and officers were able to determine that a woman had fired a gunshot before fleeing the area. A description was provided to all officers. On the next day at 7:25 AM, Officers Alex Torres and Francis Malloy located Kasheemah Valentine in the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue. Valentine matched the exact description to the shooting suspect. As the officers attempted to speak with Valentine, she fled on foot. While running, she removed a handgun from her waistband. Valentine threw the handgun onto Atlantic Avenue and it was quickly recovered. Valentine was ultimately arrested,” said the Atlantic City Police Department.
ARRESTED: Kasheemah Valentine, 30, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, certain person not to possess a weapon, possession of a large capacity magazine, and resisting arrest.
Valentine is currently being lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Department.
