Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro, Jr. confirmed Thursday that Cole Hamels might only need two more rehab starts. The Phillies ace lefty allowed two runs over four innings on Sunday in a rehab start with High-A Clearwater.  He is slated to make his next start tomorrow and then again on April 17...

Hamels, Adams Hope to Throw
Cole Hamels is aiming to throw off the mound next Tuesday for the first time this spring.  Hamels is suffering from shoulder tendinitis and is expected to join the Phillies' starting rotation at some point in April. He's beginning to make progress with his throwing program and if all goes well, he should be able to join the Phillies' rotation at some point in April...

Fast Facts and Reax: Giants 4, Phillies 3 F/10
That Antonio Bastardo backed himself into a corner for his second straight outing – and this time wasn’t able to get out of it, for another bullpen loss – was less than encouraging. But even the Phillies 4-3 extra-inning walk-off loss to the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park today was rife with silver linings...

From the Ballpark: Bullpen Comes Up Big in Pettibone’s Big-League Debut
PHILADELPHIA—It felt a little premature. Save for two pitches, solo home runs in the second and fifth, Phillies starter Jonathan Pettibone was going strong in his big league debut. And after getting Andrew McCutchen to ground out for the first out of the sixth, the 22-year-old right-hander was at only 83 pitches, more than enough to get two more outs...

Phillies (8-11) vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (10-8) First pitch at 7:05 p.m.  The Phillies don’t exactly enter on a high note, but it could be worse. If not for last night’s gamesmanship from Ben Revere (eighth-inning go-ahead RBI single) and Erik Kratz (three-run home run the next at-bat), they’d have lost 7 of 9 games and 5 of 6 series...

Phillies Notebook: Jonathan Pettibone Will Start in Lannan’s Place vs. Pirates
PHILADELPHIA—Maybe it’s a cautious optimism. Maybe they’re not all that thrilled. Ask GM Ruben Amaro, manager Charlie Manuel and pitching coach Rich Dubee why they’ve tapped Jonathan Pettibone to replace John Lannan in the rotation tomorrow in the series opener against the Pirates, and they’ll tell you that it just worked out that way...
