In his first game with the Capitals, Anthony Mantha had a goal and an assist as the Flyers were once again throttled by the opposition, falling to the Capitals, 6-1, on Tuesday night.

For several weeks, the Flyers have been playing the league's best teams on a consistent basis. The next two games present an opportunity to earn some points against some of the league's worst teams. It starts on Monday night with a game in Detroit against the last-place Red Wings.

The Flyers face the Detroit Red Wins in the annual Black Friday game. The Flyers enter the game with an 8-2-4 record in November, while Detroit comes in on a seven-game losing streak.

The weekend provided fodder for many different topics as the trade deadline approaches, from the Flyers acquisition of Cam Talbot, to Wayne Simmonds' deadline fate, to signs of a possible moving on from Shayne Gostisbehere.

The Flyers won in overtime, 6-5. In the end, it doesn't matter how the points come, as long as they keep coming. But against the lowly Red Wings, this was a game that the Flyers needed to lock down and didn't do it. Sure, they survived, but it sets the stage for a difficult game to come on Sunday in the back end of a home-and-home.
