Tyson Foerster scored with 1:29 to play, helping the Flyers to a 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins on Saturday afternoon.

The Flyers allowed three goals in 2:56 to start the third period on Saturday, dropping another game in regulation to the Boston Bruins.

The Bruins scored four goals in 4:14 in the first period, entering the All-Star break with a 6-2 loss to the Boston Bruins on Saturday.

Bobby Brink had a goal and an assist, as well as another goal in the shootout, to lift the Flyers to a preseason shootout win over the Bruins on Friday night.

Things fell apart in the final eight minutes of the third period for the Flyers. They allowed two goals in 18 seconds as the Penguins tied the game, then Kris Letang scored the game-winner in overtime in a 5-4 defeat on Tuesday night.

The Penguins are dealing with various health issues, some injury-related and some COVID-related. Most notably, Penguins captain Sidney Crosby will be out for Thursday's game after testing positive for COVID on Wednesday. Crosby had missed the first seven games of the Penguins' season recovering from offseason wrist surgery and just returned for his first game of the season on Saturday. Nonetheless, Pittsburgh is off to a 3-3-2 start without having Crosby or Evgeni Malkin in the lineup, so this is still no easy task for the Flyers.

After erasing a 5-2 deficit, the strangest of endings in the shootout helped the Flyers get the 6-5 come-from-behind win to defeat the Bruins on Monday night at Wells Fargo Center.

Carter Hart survived a flurry of chances late in regulation and overtime and did not allow a goal in the shootout as the Flyers claimed another win, beating the Bruins, 3-2, in a shootout on Sunday night.

It’s back home for the Flyers as they continue a busy first week of the preseason with a meeting against the Boston Bruins on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
