Carter Hart finished with 31 saves in 65 minutes and Henrik Lundqvist had 32. In a shootout, Mika Zibanejad had the only goal to lift the Rangers to a 2-1 shootout win over the Flyers.
Perhaps the fourth time will be the charm. This is not the Flyers first rodeo in an outdoor setting. They have been on this stage three times before, but have yet to get a win.
After turning in the worst period of the season that ultimately was their downfall in a 5-2 loss in Buffalo on Wednesday, one that had the fanbase sharpening pitchforks and lighting torches ready for some form of change to be made, the Flyers responded with a quality win against a divisional opponent.
The Flyers have wanted to be patient with Hart and have him take every step necessary in development. Injuries may have opened the door for a chance to make the roster this season. The injuries are not Hart's focus though, rather what he can control in his case to be an NHL goaltender.
