The Philadelphia Phillies start the final stretch by losing 5-1 to the Washington Nationals.
Zack Wheeler struggled, but battled through. In my opinion, he needs to be better in this type of scenario. The offense did not show up anyway, but I feel the mentality changes as a team when your top dog goes out on the bump and dominates more than Wheeler did.
Roman Quinn decided to argue balls and strikes which led to getting kicked out of the game. Joe Girardi followed. What a horrendous decision by Quinn, knowing that Mickey Moniak was the alternative. Not that Quinn is playing well at all, but losing Girardi's decision-making during this stretch is not ideal.
