The course of a season in any sport is a day-by-day affair. In the Flyers case, it's become an ongoing soap opera that shows no signs of stopping.

Less than two minutes into the third period, a miscommunication changed the outlook, allowing the Devils to get ahead and grab the lead and never look back. The Flyers continued to put forth the effort, but fell short in a 3-2 loss to the Devils on Saturday night at Wells Fargo Center.

The Flyers finally got the result to go with the process. Kevin Hayes scored two goals and Carter Hart made 23 saves in helping the Flyers snap their losing streak at 10 games with a 3-1 win over the New York Islanders on Tuesday night at Wells Fargo Center.

Three goals in the third period, including two in a 22-second span put the New York Islanders up for good, as the Flyers suffered their 10th straight loss on Saturday night.

The Flyers scored three goals in the second period and never looked back, as Felix Sandstrom secured his first NHL win in goal in a 5-1 victory over the Blues on Tuesday night at Wells Fargo Center.

A late goal by Martin Necas forced overtime and Brent Burns scored the game-winner in overtime in a 4-3 loss for the Flyers.
