The Flyers tied the game in the third period and earned a valuable point in the standings, but fell to the Hurricanes in overtime.

The Flyers hit the road to face the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday night, continuing their stretch of games against playoff opponents.

The Hurricanes scored late in the third to extend their lead to two, in an eventual 4-1 loss for the Flyers.

After getting back in the win column on Saturday, the Flyers are back on home ice on Tuesday night to take on the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Flyers are back on the ice to continue their homestand by taking on the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night.

Samuel Ersson allowed a goal on the first shot he faced in his NHL career and was eventually pulled after allowing five goals. In relief, Carter Hart was back in goal, until he was forced to exit with an injury, sending Ersson back in during a whirlwind 6-5 loss for the Flyers to the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night.

Before reaching the break, the Flyers will face a red-hot Carolina Hurricanes team that has won seven straight games, 11 of their last 12, and has not lost in regulation since Nov. 23.

The Flyers were blown out again, this time by a 6-3 margin against the Hurricanes on Friday afternoon at Wells Fargo Center, sending the Flyers to their fifth straight loss.

Entering the third period on Friday night in Carolina, it was another case of Carter Hart keeping his team in a game. Carolina had only one goal. Hart had 27 saves. This time, the Flyers gave him some run support, and Hart did the rest in a dominant performance that continued his hot start to the season. 

Carter Hart kept the Flyers in another game, and this time his teammates rewarded the effort with two third-period goals in a 2-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night.
