The Flyers extended qualifying offers to Noah Cates, Morgan Frost, Cam York, Olle Lycksell, and Ronnie Attard on Wednesday. They did not make qualifying offers to three other restricted free agents.

Flyers head coach John Tortorella addressed multiple topics on Friday, including the captaincy, young players, and goalies, while the team made more roster cuts.

On Tuesday night, it will be more of a 'B' team lineup for the Flyers against the Islanders, as cuts have started to begin, but another chance to see some new faces like Derick Brassard, Rasmus Ristolainen and Martin Jones. 

Monday's win for the Flyers over the Bruins required overtime, despite Boston icing their 'B' team. Part of that was quality goaltending. But the Flyers also showed that they are still a work in progress in some areas as the preseason draws closer to an end.

You can imagine how the result looked when the Boston Bruins, playing in their first preseason home game, took the opportunity to load up with roughly 90 percent of the NHL roster. It's hardly a way to evaluate how one team looks against another. The final day before the start of the 2020-21 season is here, and that means roster decisions are due. The Flyers have officially announced their roster for opening night of the 2020-21 season.

Seven players from the 41-man training camp roster were placed on waivers for the purposes of going to the AHL or taxi squad that will allow the Flyers to make recalls much easier in this unprecedented season.

On Saturday, the Flyers released their roster and schedule for training camp ahead of the 2020-21 season, set to begin in just 11 days.

The Flyers brought the roster down to 54 players with eight cuts on Wednesday.
