These South Jersey Doctors and Nurses to be Honored at 2024 VIM Celebration
For over 20 years, Volunteers In Medicine has been serving South Jersey by helping uninsured and underserved patients. VIM is a part of The National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, a national medical non-profit organization that has been highlighted over the years on television by Dr. Oz.
VIM has a volunteer-based free clinic located in Cape May Court House which operates thanks to donations from the South Jersey community. Each year, the non-profit organization hosts an annual celebration during which they honor people and give out awards for the following categories:
-Volunteer of the Year
-Community Partner of the Year
-Physician of the Year.
Who Is Being Honored At The VIM 2024 Annual Celebration?
According to a press release from the Volunteers in Medicine, the award for 2024 Physician of the Year will be given to Doctor Mary Ann Haflin. Dr. Haflin is a Cape May County resident who worked most of her private practice career at North Wildwood Medical Associates. She began volunteering with VIM in 2019.
The award for 2024 Community Partner of the Year is being given to the Cape May County Health Department. Located on Moore Road in the Crest Haven Complex, they have multiple departments that serve Cape May County including Community Health Planning and Nursing Department.
VIM will be awarding the 2024 Volunteer of the Year to Kathy Miller, RN. A graduate of the University of Delaware, Miller has been a Staff RN at Volunteers in Medicine since 2016.
VIM’s 2024 Annual Celebration will be hosted at Avalon Links Golf Club on Route 9 in Middle Township. The tickets for the luncheon celebration are $40 per person and can be purchased at the VIM South Jersey website here.
