The Locker Room Celebrates Kyle Schwarber’s All-Star Game MVP

The MLB All-star break is over, and the Phillies begin their second-half run for the 2025 season.  Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber won the 2025 All-Star MVP and he is only the second Phillies player to do that in Franchise History. 

The All-Star game was tied 6-6 after nine innings and went to this year's extra innings format.  Each Manager picked three players before the start of the game to represent their team in a home run hitting contest.  Kyle Schwarber smacked three homers to propel the National League team to victory, and Schwarber was selected MVP.

Has Schwarber been the best storyline for the Phillies this year, or the Phillies starting pitching?  Since May 1st, Zack Wheeler, Ranger Suarez, and Cristopher Sanchez rank first, fourth, and fifth among all pitchers in ERA.  The Phillies welcome the Los Angeles Angels to the Bank for three this weekend and we will cover it all.

There are two Beach Patrol races on Friday night: The Kerr Memorial Lifeguard races in Avalon at 6:15pm and the Atlantic City Classic Lifeguard races in AC at 6:30pm.  The Locker Room with Billy Schweim will have all the results and interviews from both races.

Next week, The Locker Room with Billy Schweim will be broadcasting Live from the Beach in Wildwood for the first of the Big Three: The Dutch- Hoffman Memorial Lifeguard Race scheduled for a 6:30 start at Schellenger Avenue in Wildwood. 

On Saturday’s show, Producer Nick Earnshaw and I will be talking Philly sports. We will recap Friday night Phillies action.  At 11 am, we will hear from 2008 World Series Champion, Relief pitcher Scott Eyre.  Jimmy Rollins will be honored and inducted with former Phillies General Manger Ed Wade into the Phillies Wall of Fame. Scott will tell us about playing with J-Roll.  Also in Hour Two, it’s the Beach Patrol Report brought to you by McCann Realtors of Sea Isle and the OCBP Lifeguard Alumni Assocation.  We will have all the results from the Kerr Memorials and the Atlantic Lifeguard Classic plus interviews with the competitors.
