I attended the 119th annual Philadelphia Sports Writers Association annual Banquet at the Doubletree by Hilton Wednesday night in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.  Every year the association honors past and present Philadelphia sports teams and individuals who win awards in several categories.  This year's honorees include the Philadelphia Phillies Pitcher Aaron Nola and the Phils Manager Rob Thomson.  Plus Former Eagles Special Teams' Ace Vince Palale along with Linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Sr. were honored along with members of the 1974 Flyers Team.  Joining the honorees was current Flyers Center Sean Couturier.  It was a great night to see so many Philadelphia Greats!  I had an opportunity to interview Aaron Nola, Rob Thomson, and Sean Couturier; We will play each of those interviews this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim on 973 ESPN Radio South Jersey.

The Eagles season came to a very disappointing end in Tampa Bay at the losing end of their Monday night playoff matchup 32-9 to the Bucs.  Will Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni be fired or will he get another chance to regain their winning ways next year?  ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter Reports that Sirianni will meet with Eagles Owner Jeffrey Lurie on Friday.

The Sixers have won three straight and the reigning NBA MVP Award Winner Joel Embiid has 18 straight games in which he has scored at least 30 points.  The Flyers won their fifth straight game on Thursday Night as Owen Tippett has now scored a goal in four of his last five games played.  We will discuss it all this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim on 973 ESPN Radio South Jersey.

On Saturday’s Show former Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver Dave Klemic and Producer Nick Earnshaw join me in the studio.  The Flyers are playing a winning brand of hockey that is bringing fans back to the rink.  If you’ve ever attended a game or watched on TV you know Sign Man Dave Leonardi.  Dave has been putting up his signs behind the visitors goal during the 1st and 3rd periods since 1973.  We will talk with Dave during the first hour of the show.  The Sports Book Consigliere Dave Sharapan is scheduled but is escorting his daughter to college and will try to find time to call in.  During Hour Two we have a very special guest, Podcaster Dan Alexander. Dan wrote a song about the Eagles' horrible play and early exit out of the playoffs called "The Wreck of the Philadelphia Eagles".  Dan will perform his song live at 11:30am, you don’t want to miss it!!!

On Sunday’s show, The Locker Room Youth Movement is back in studio with Producer Danny Ryan and "The Intern” Andrew Leeds joining me to talk the weekend in Philadelphia Sports.  We will review the Eagles' Offseason and recap Saturday’s NFL Playoff action plus preview Sunday’s games.  In Hour Two we will talk with my Fantasy Football Guru Brian Hartley brought to you by Charlie’s Bar in Somers Point.  "The Guru" will give his playoff fantasy football picks for Sunday.

All that and more this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim, heard every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to Noon on 973 ESPN Radio South Jersey.
