The Cedar Creek High School basketball gymnasium has housed just two winters of hoops action.

Freshly-laid paint still shines on the white walls, which are adorned only with an American Flag, a portrait of the school’s Pirate mascot and a pair of scoreboards.

Suddenly, and certainly faster than most could have ever anticipated, those broadly barren walls will soon receive a significant addition. Cedar Creek’s girls basketball team cruised to a 62-29 Group I title game victory over Gloucester City on Tuesday, Mar. 6 in front of a capacity crowd to ensure its home gym will indeed be spruced up with at least a South Jersey championship banner.
