Eagles Trade for Ocean Township, NJ, Native Kenny Pickett

The Eagles backup quarterback position has been filled.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the team has traded for former Pittsburgh Steelers starting quarterback Kenny Pickett and a 2024 fourth-round pick in exchange for a 2024 third and two seventh-round picks in 2025.

Pickett wanted to be moved after the team announced the signing of Russell Wilson.

"Kenny Pickett has started games in this league, its a pretty clear upgrade," said John McMullen of Birds 365.

With the Eagles he will likely be the teams backup behind Jalen Hurts, replacing Marcus Mariota, who signed with the Washington Commanders.

Since being draft No. 20 overall n the 2022 draft, Pickett is 14-10 as a starter and has thrown for 4,474 yards, 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions  in 25 career games with the Steelers.

Pickett, 25, is a 2017 of Ocean Township High School and grew up in the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township.

As a junior at Ocean Township, Pickett led the Spartans to the New Jersey Central Group III semifinal game and threw for 4,670 yards with 43 touchdowns and rushed for 873 yards and 17 touchdowns during his high school career. As a senior, he accounted for nearly 1,900 yards in total offense and 20 touchdowns.
