It’s funny how fickle the Philadelphia sports fans are and I am just as guilty.  But Joel Embiid is doing his best to quell our frustrations.  Last Monday night the Sixers hosted the San Antonio Spurs in what was supposed to be a much-anticipated matchup between the 2023 NBA Draft Number One Overal Pick 7'4" Center Victor Wembanyama and the reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid.  The game quickly became a record-setting night for the Sixers big man as Embiid broke Wilt Chamberlain’s 56-year-old franchise record for most points in a game (70).  After Embiid had a historic night, he was named to his seventh NBA All-Star team and he is averaging a league-best 36.1 points per game this season.

After a five-game winning streak, the Flyers have now lost their last four games and host the Boston Bruins Saturday Afternoon for their final game before the NHL All-Star Break.  The Flyers need to stop the bleeding by beating the best team in the Eastern Conference but it will not be easy without their second-leading scorer, Owen Tippett, placed on Injured Reserve and Star Goaltender Carter Hart out indefinitely.

Of course, we cannot forget the Philadelphia Eagles are retooling this offseason.  After General Manager Howie Roseman and Head Coach Nick Sirianni were a half hour late for their Wednesday Press Conference, reports are they will land their next Defensive Coordinator: Pennsylvania's own Vic Fangio will be in charge of the Birds' Defense for the 2024 NFL season.  We will cover it all this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim!

On Saturday’s show, former Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver Dave Klemic and Producer Nick Earnshaw join me in the studio.  We kick start things off and talk with 13-year NFL Wide Receiver and Speedster Eddie Kennison.  In 1997, Kennison was the NFL’s fastest man and had five seasons in which he had five or more Touchdown Catches.  In Hour Two, the Sports Book Consigliere Dave Sharapan checks in from Las Vegas with his unique perspective on betting this weekend's NFC and AFC Championship games.

On Sunday’s show, The Locker Room Youth Movement is back in studio featuring Producer Danny Ryan and "The Intern” Andrew Leeds join me on NFL Championship Sunday.  We will preview both games and review the weekend for the Philadelphia Sports Teams.  The Eagles made news during the week and we will review their moves with the coaching staff.  Plus we will react to the Flyers-Bruins game and Joel Embiid's record-breaking performance on Monday night.  Also, the Sixers are in Denver on Saturday and we will talk about Embiid vs Jokic Round Two!

All that and more this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim heard every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to Noon on 973 ESPN Radio South Jersey.
