In a move that should surprise nobody, the Philadelphia Flyers have placed goaltender Cal Petersen on waivers on Wednesday.

Peterson was in goal on Sunday afternoon in a 7-6 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins, giving up all seven goals.

Petersen was 2-2 with a 3.90 goals against and a .864 SV% in five games this season. The 29-year old has appeared in only three games since returning to the NHL in late January, going 1-1-0 and giving up 11 goals on 65 shots

The Flyers acquired Petersen from the LA Kings in a three-team trade that landed them Sean Walker.

Samuel Ersson is now the teams starting goaltender with Carter Hart away from the team.  The likely candidate to replace Petersen is Felix Sandstrom who has been with the Phantoms this season.
