The Hammonton Blue Devils took the first step in the process to leave the Cape Atlantic League for the Tri-County Conference.

The league which is based in Camden County, Cape May County, Cumberland County, Gloucester County and Salem County and is composed of three divisions: Royal, Diamond and Classic.

Hammonton High would be the only school in the Tri-County Conference located in Atlantic County, but would join former Cape Atlantic League member Wildwood who left the Cape back in 2002.

The Blue Devils are one of the premier football schools in the Cape and finished as the runner-up in Group III this season, losing to Timber Creek - a member of the West Jersey Football League.

The earliest Hammonton could leave the CAL is the 2014-15, under the CAL constitution.
