Hammonton running back Kenny Smith rushed for a school record 295 yards and three touchdowns on Friday night in the Blue Devils win over Rancocas Valley.

Apparently it caught the attention of some major college football programs.

Smith, who has rushed for 1,046 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, posted on his social media account that he has earned and offer from the University of Pittsburgh.

The junior has been one of the top running backs in South Jersey the past two seasons, and should continue to receive some attention from college football programs.

Pittsburgh, a member of the ACC, is the first major Division 1 program to offer him a scholarship, with nearby Monmouth also in the mix.

Smith led all Cape-Atlantic League area rushers in 2022 with 1,670 yards and scored 21 touchdowns for the Blue Devils in 12 games.

Hammonton is back in action on Friday night at Timber Creek in a battle between two of the top teams in South Jersey.  Hammonton is ranked No. 11 in the Prime Events Online 25 and Timber Creek is No. 13.
