This week Joel Embiid was name to All-NBA Second Team and All-Defense Second Team after his first full season.  Before the 2017-18 season, Embiid had only appeared in 31 games since being drafted by the 76ers Third Overall in the 2014 NBA Draft.  Joel Embiid finished the season ranked Third in the NBA in Defensive Rating (100.5), Fourth in Blocks Per Game (1.8), and Seventh in Rebounds Per Game (11.0).

NBC Sports Philadelphia Sixers Analyst Marc Jackson joined The Sports Bash on Thursday discussing Joel Embiid's first full NBA season:

"Joel Embiid came into this season being healthy. He missed a few games, but he was healthy....I was so proud of him, watching him mature, watching him go through the season and finish the season healthy.  Even though he had a little issue with the eye, he had a little knee bump early in the year but he did not miss significant time - We always speak about how he’s a two way player....I still think he should have been First Team (All-NBA), but we’ll take (All-NBA Second Team)"
