The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat are the emotions that Philadelphia Phillies' fans are experiencing now after the Red October run came to an end.  Yes it was fun while it lasted but the Phillies fell short of their goal to get back to the World Series in consecutive seasons.  A major reason for the Phillies' demise was their star players' bats were silent in Games Six and Seven.  Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, and Kyle Schwarber were a combined 1-20 while the team could only score three runs in front of the best home-field advantage in Major League Baseball.  I am still not over this stunning loss and I know many Phillies fans are not either!

The Eagles have been anointed as the team that carries our hopes for another championship.  The Eagles are 6-1 this season after defeating a high-powered Dolphins team that could not handle the Birds' defensive line.  Eagles rookie defensive tackle Jalen Carter and Second-Year DT tackle Jordan Davis dominated the line of scrimmage and held the Fish to 45 yards rushing.  The Dolphins were averaging 37 Points Per game until Philadelphia held them to 17 points on Sunday Night Football.

The Sixers opened up their 2023-24 campaign with a 118 -117 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night. Tyrese Maxey and newly acquired wingman Kelly Oubre lead the Sixers by scoring 58 of the Sixers 117 points.  The NBA MVP Award winner Joel Embiid was frustrating to watch as he turned the ball over 7 times in the first game of the season.  Sixers are back in action Saturday Night in Toronto at 730 pm, you can hear the action on 973 ESPN Radio.

The Flyers have pleasantly surprised their fans as they are now 4-2-1 after seven games into their season.  They beat the Minnesota Wild 6-2 on Thursday night at the Wells Fargo Center and they are back in action this Sunday at 1 pm, you can listen to the game on 973 ESPN Radio and on the 973 ESPN Mobile app.
